How to upgrade UX999PLUS firmware normally
1. Obtain the firmware upgrade package, two files named "APM1288.zip" and "applepie_update.json".
2. Please prepare a TF card, and put "APM1288.zip" and "applepie_update.json" directly into the TF card (directly placed in the root directory, no need to create any folder, and no need to unzip the zip file).
2. At this time, please insert this TF card for upgrade. The file system detects that there are upgrade files in the TF card, and a pop-up window will ask whether to upgrade. Immediately (within 20 seconds) click the "Cancel" button to cancel the upgrade operation. Please pull out the upgrade card; if you click "OK" or do nothing (wait for a timeout of 20 seconds), the system will enter the upgrade operation.
3. First, copy the upgrade file to the internal storage space. The copy progress will be from 0% to 100%. After the copy is completed, the system will pop up a pop-up prompt to automatically restart.
4. After the system restarts, you can pull out the TF card, and the rest of the steps will be completed automatically. You just have to wait to get to the main screen display of the UX999 Plus again.
The entire upgrade process takes about 15 minutes.
Note: It is better not to cut off the power during the upgrade process, and do not pull out the TF card during the process of copying the upgrade files to the internal memory. Of course, if the above situation occurs, the UX999 Plus will not be damaged because of it, and it will work normally after restarting. It's just that your upgrade process has been canceled this time, and the normal upgrade cannot be completed.
How to upgrade the firmware without seeing the device screen (blind upgrade)
Connect the box to the head unit of the original car, wait for 1 minute, and then repeat this operation several times.
During this process, please observe the status of the two LED lights. At this time, there will be two situations.
(1). If the red LED is always on, the blue LED flashes once a second, and it remains in this state, it means that the box is working normally, but there is a problem with the CarPlay connection protocol;
(2). If the two lights go out together for 10 seconds, it means that the original head unit will reset the USB power supply without recognizing the box.
1. If it is the first case, you can continue to power on the box through the CarPlay USB interface of the Head Unit, wait for 2 minutes after the box is powered on, and make sure that the red power indicator on the box is always on and the blue is working The indicator light flashes once every second, at this time, insert the TF card, wait for 1 minute, and then pull out the TF card. Copy the debug1288.zip file (or debug_log folder, note: the contents of debug1288.zip and debug_log folder are the same) generated on the TF card and send it to us. We will analyze this log file and check to see what is the problem.
2. If it is the second case, you can use a USB charger (5V/2A, such as a cigarette lighter USB car charging adapter, or a household mobile phone USB charging adapter) to power on the box, and the box is powered on After waiting for 2 minutes, make sure that the red power indicator on the box is always on, and the blue working status indicator flashes once per second. At this time, insert the TF card, wait another 1 minute, and then pull out the TF card. Copy the debug1288.zip file (or debug_log folder, note: the contents of debug1288.zip and debug_log folder are the same) generated on the TF card and send it to us. We will analyze this log file and check to see what is the problem.
3. If it is the second case, you can also do the same: find a model with OK connection, display OK, and operate OK, and complete the operation of obtaining the log file on this car. Insert a TF card, go to Settings--->ApplePie Settings, select "Copy log files to SD card", and wait for the copy to complete. In the file manager or ES file browser application, you can check whether the debug1288.zip (or debug_log folder, note: debug1288.zip and debug_log folder content are the same) files are produced in the TF card. Copy the debug1288.zip (or debug_log folder, note: the contents of debug1288.zip and debug_log folder are the same) generated on the TF card on the computer and send it to us. We will analyze this log file and check to see what is the problem.
Please provide us with the log and a detailed video of the connection process to help us analyze the problem. Thanks!
